Temporary measures for participants during lockdown
📣 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧
✅ The NDIS has just announced a temporary measure to assist participants during lockdown with COVID so that they no longer need to use their funds to pay for the support of someone cooking or shopping for them, hence reducing the risk of COVID-exposure. Or if the participants are required to stay at home and can’t meet anyone outside of their households.
✅ The changes mean participants can now use their CORE funding to pay for alternative meal preparation and delivery services.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨:
👉 Currently use some of their core funding to pay for a support worker to help with preparation of meals or shopping
👉 Live in an are with ‘stay at home’ orders
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞:
👉 The cost of food is not covered by NDIS. The NDIS can cover the cost of preparing a meal and having it delivered to you.
👉 From 10 September to 1 December 2021
👉 Includes some suburbs in Sydney, all of Victoria and the ACT
