NDIS Terminology Change
The NDIS has announced a number of 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 to make it easier for Participants to understand and to avoid trouble with their plans. This is part of a change to the NDIS Act 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮.
The changed words include:
𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 instead of Review date/ End date
Reassessment date is time for the NDIS to review the participant's plan to make a decision on necessary changes. If a plan reaches its reassessment date before the reassessment is completed, the current plan will be varied to extend it by 12 months so you can continue accessing supports.

𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 instead of (Full) plan review/ Scheduled or unscheduled review/ Change of Circumstances (CoC) review/ S48 review
Participant or the planner can ask for a reassessment at any time. When conducting a reassessment, NDIS will decide to create a new plan or vary the current plan, depending on participant’s situation.

𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣 𝙫𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 instead of ‘Light touch’ plan review/ Plan extension, rollover or continuation/ New plans with similar supports and new plans with minor changes
There are some situations where NDIS can ‘vary’ a plan without a full reassessment. Participant can ask for a variation at any time and receive a copy of the varied plan within 7 days.

𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 instead of S100 review/ Review of reviewable decision (RORD)
If a participant is not clear or happy with the outcome of this review, they can ask for a review of NDIS decisions.
Participants' interests will always come first, which is why these changes are made.
