Yarrawonga Mulwala Canoe Club Pilot Program
The Yarrawonga Mulwala Canoe Club has been selected by Paddle Victoria to run their adaptive pilot program!
This aims to assist and empower people of all abilities to take up activities such as water sports and branch out to try new things.
There are quite a few members of this club who are all-abilities. Natalia-Drew Cole for example, the youngest para-canoeist to compete on the national scene, has recently just won gold and silver at the Paddle Australia Canoe National Championships in the paralympic class. 🥇🥈🛶
This has opened doors for many, who have come with enthusiasm to see what this club now has to offer. 🤩
A young boy with cerebral palsy travelled an hour to fulfil his dream of trying canoeing after meeting the Australian para canoeist Curtis McGrath. Despite having no control over his left side, solutions were quickly worked towards by the team, and he was able to enjoy a day on the waters. 🌊
