NDIS news: Increased support for NDIS workers
𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐏𝐄 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐒𝐖, 𝐕𝐈𝐂 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐂𝐓 📣
Support Workers can now directly claim personal protective equipment (PPE) costs from the NDIS!
✅ What can be claimed?
👉 PPE: masks, gloves and hand sanitiser used by support workers (not participants)
✅ 𝐈𝐧 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭:
👉 incur the expense and have provided the participant and support workers with PPE
👉 have agreement from the participant to claim expenses from their plan
✅ 𝐓𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬:
👉 0104 High Intensity Daily Personal Activities
👉 0107 Daily Personal Activities
👉 0115 Assistance with Daily Life Tasks in a Group or Shared Living Arrangement.
✅ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦:
👉 If the participant is managed by NDIA: the service provider submits the invoice via the myplace provider portal.
👉 If the participant is self-managed or managed by a plan manager: submit an invoice by emailing [email protected]
✅ 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞:
👉 Participants must have agreed to being charged. Providers can only claim the costs that are actually incurred.
👉 The PPE price limit is $27 per participant, per worker, per day.
👉 All provider claims are subject to the NDIA payment assurance process.
👉 Providers have up to one month to invoice the NDIA for PPE once this support is removed.
Claiming one-off payment to cover costs for support workers to receive vaccination 📣
From October 15, all authorised workers are required to have received their first vaccination, to continue working.
✅ What can be claimed?
👉 $100 per worker per dose, can be claimed directly from the NDIA and retrospectively for any vaccinations that a worker has received since 1 October to 25 November 2021 in Victoria.
✅ 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞:
Providers will have up to one month to claim once this support is removed.
